A hilltop village, minutes from Maidstone
Coxheath sits on the Greensand Ridge a few miles south of Maidstone, strung out along Heath Road with the Weald falling away to the south. It is a proper village — a common, a village hall, a parade of shops — but close enough to town that much of its traffic is the everyday: the school run, the supermarket, the surgery and the trains.
Coxheath Common carries history out of proportion to its size, from an Armada beacon to the great 18th-century army camps and early cricket. These days the village is better known for the World Custard Pie Championship, thrown here every year since 1967.
With no railway station of its own, Coxheath leans on the car for the trains — East Farleigh on the Medway Valley Line, and Maidstone East and West for London. We run those both ways and meet the late ones home with the heater on.

Getting to Maidstone Hospital
Hospital runs from Coxheath.
Parking at Maidstone Hospital is often the hardest part of the day, so this is worth knowing: there is a free hospital bus to the site from the London Road Park & Ride at Allington, run for the NHS trust. It is free to everyone, whether or not you have parked a car there.
It does not call at Coxheath, so you would need to reach the Park & Ride first. If that works for your appointment, use it — we would rather point you at it than sell you a fare you did not need.
When it doesn’t work — an early list, a late discharge, or a day you are not up to waiting — we run Coxheath to Hermitage Lane door to door, any hour.

Questions
Coxheath taxi questions.
Can you get me from Coxheath to Maidstone town centre?
All day and night — it is a short fixed fare down the hill rather than a metered guess, and the price is agreed before the car moves. Put it in the app or call 01622 750000.
Coxheath has no railway station — how do I reach the trains?
We run to East Farleigh on the Medway Valley Line and to Maidstone East and West for the London services, timed to the train you are catching. Coming home late, your driver tracks it so a delay never strands you.
Do you cover the villages around Coxheath?
Every lane of them — Loose, Boughton Monchelsea, Linton, Hunton and East Farleigh are all home ground, and our drivers know the turnings off Heath Road rather than following a pin on a map.
Can you take me to Maidstone Hospital from Coxheath?
Yes — Hermitage Lane is a regular Coxheath run for clinics, day surgery and visiting hours. Tell the office your appointment time and they will plan both legs around it.
Do you pick up from Coxheath Common and the village hall?
Constantly — the Common and the village hall are the heart of Coxheath, busiest when the fete or the custard-pie championship is on. Name either when you book and the car will find you.
How much is a taxi from Coxheath to Gatwick Airport?
A standard saloon is a £71 fixed fare, agreed when you book, with the airport drop-off charge added at cost. Heathrow is £101, Stansted £105 and Luton £130. New customers get £5 off a first app booking with code CAB9, bringing Gatwick to £66.
Can I book an 8 seater taxi in Coxheath?
Yes — minibuses seating up to eight run alongside the saloons and estates in Coxheath, and they are the usual choice for group airport runs, nights out and trips into Maidstone. Book ahead on 01622 750000 so the right vehicle is waiting.
