A Wealden village on the London line

Marden is one of the larger villages in the Weald south of Maidstone, and its station on the Tonbridge to Ashford line puts central London within a direct train ride. That mix — country lanes and orchards one way, a fast commuter service the other — is what keeps our cars busy here: the early run to the platform, the late pickup off a delayed service, and everything in between.

Around the centre sit St Michael and All Angels, a Grade I church begun around 1200, the High Street shops and the village recreation ground, while the lanes run out to Marden Thorn, Collier Street and the fruit farms that earned the Weald its name as the Garden of England.

There is no direct bus to the county's hospitals, so the hospital run is one we do a lot of — Maidstone on Hermitage Lane and Tunbridge Wells at Pembury — door to door, any hour, with the fare fixed before you travel.

Getting to hospital from Marden

Hospital runs, door to door.

Marden sits between the county’s two main hospitals — Maidstone Hospital on Hermitage Lane and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury — both run by the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

Neither has a direct bus from the village, and both are a drive across country lanes, so a booked car door to door is usually the simplest way to make an early appointment or get home after a late discharge.

We cover both any hour, along with the GP surgery, clinics and care homes closer to home, and the fare is agreed before you travel. Call the office or book in the app.

Questions

Marden taxi questions.

Can I get a taxi to and from Marden station?

Every day. Marden sits on the Tonbridge to Ashford line with direct trains to London, so the station is one of our busiest village runs. Book your car for the train you are catching, and if an evening service runs late we track it and your driver waits.

Do you cover the lanes and hamlets around Marden?

Yes — Marden Thorn, Collier Street and the farms and orchards along the lanes towards Staplehurst and Yalding. Local drivers who know the turnings rather than following a pin on a map, with the fare agreed before you set off.

Can you take me to Maidstone or Tunbridge Wells hospital from Marden?

Any hour. Marden sits between Maidstone Hospital on Hermitage Lane and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury, and neither has a direct bus from the village, so we run both door to door — early lists, clinic appointments and late discharges alike.

Do you serve Marden for airport transfers?

Yes. Fixed-fare runs from Marden to Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted and Luton, agreed at booking, with the airport drop-off charge and any road toll added at cost. Book the night before a dawn flight and the car is on the drive when you need it.

Is it easy to get a taxi late at night in Marden?

The office answers 24 hours a day on 01622 750000 and the app books a car to the village at any hour. For a late train home or a night out, booking ahead means a car is reserved rather than hoped for.

How much is a taxi from Marden to Gatwick Airport?

A standard saloon is an £80 fixed fare, agreed when you book, with the £10 Gatwick drop-off charge added at cost. Heathrow is £110, Stansted £115 and Luton £140. New customers get £5 off a first app booking with code CAB9, bringing Gatwick to £75.

Can I book an 8 seater taxi in Marden?

Yes — minibuses seating up to eight run alongside the saloons and estates, and they are the usual choice for group airport runs, nights out and family occasions across the Weald. Book ahead on 01622 750000 so the right vehicle is waiting.
