Gatwick Airport

North & South Terminal
LGW — what to expect

Gatwick Airport (LGW) has two terminals — North Terminal and South Terminal — connected by a free inter-terminal transit. There is no price difference between terminals. If you are unsure which terminal your airline uses, your driver has the knowledge to check and will get you to the right one. Dropping off, Gatwick charges £10 for up to ten minutes at the terminal zones and £1 a minute after that, which we add to outbound fares at cost. Coming home there is no drop-off charge — your driver meets you inside arrivals with a name board, waits up to 60 minutes free from the actual landing time, and airport parking is charged separately at whatever it comes to on the day.

Licensed private hire drivers, DBS checked, fully insured vehicles.

Early-morning pickups from Tunbridge Wells

Tunbridge Wells is one of the shortest airport runs we do — around 25 miles, and the only one of our regular Gatwick routes that can avoid the M25 altogether. When the motorway is heavy the driver can go cross-country on the A264 and A22 instead, which is rarely faster on paper but is far more predictable when the M25 is queuing. Because the run is short, an early Gatwick departure does not mean a 3am start from here the way it does from further east.

Airport questions

Tunbridge Wells to Gatwick taxi FAQs.

How much is a taxi from Tunbridge Wells to Gatwick Airport?

A standard vehicle is £75, plus the £10 Gatwick drop-off charge on outbound journeys, or £70 plus the drop-off charge on your first journey booked in the app. Premium cars and MPVs have their own fixed fares — see the fare panel above. On return journeys, airport parking is paid on the day instead of the drop-off charge.

What vehicle should I book for passengers and luggage?

A standard vehicle seats up to 4, but four passengers with large cases for a long-haul flight will be tight — take an MPV instead. The 8-seater MPV and the Premium MPV (Mercedes V-Class) both carry up to 8 passengers, and the V-Class has the most luggage room. The Mercedes E-Class seats up to 4 in a premium car. If you are unsure, call 01892 511911 before you book and we will tell you what fits.

How long does Tunbridge Wells to Gatwick take?

The route covers approximately 25 miles, heading north to join the M25, then south on the M23 directly into Gatwick — or cross-country via the A264 and A22 when traffic favours it, and normally takes 45–65 minutes. Allow longer during peak congestion — your driver monitors live traffic and picks the fastest route on the day.

Is the fare fixed?

Your fare is confirmed when you book, with no meter and no surge pricing. Different rates may apply on bank holidays, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The Gatwick drop-off charge is added on outbound journeys; return journeys add airport parking, paid on the day.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Your driver monitors your flight in real time and adjusts to the new landing time at no extra charge. You also have 60 minutes’ free waiting from when the flight lands.

Where will I meet my driver at Gatwick Airport?

Your driver meets you inside the arrivals hall, holding a Streamline name board, and walks you to the car. Gatwick has two terminals, North and South, and we confirm yours from your flight, at no price difference. You have 60 minutes’ free waiting from when the flight actually lands.

How do I book a Gatwick-to-Tunbridge Wells return journey?

Book your return in the Streamline app or call 01892 511911. You can book the outward and return journeys together or separately. Return airport parking is paid on the day.

How long does the Tunbridge Wells to Gatwick run really take?

Typically 45 to 65 minutes for about 25 miles. It is one of the shortest airport runs we do, and the variation is nearly all down to whether the driver uses the M25 or goes cross-country on the A264 and A22.

Is Tunbridge Wells close enough to Gatwick for a very early flight?

Yes — and it is the reason this route is easier than most. A 6am departure does not need a 3am pickup from Tunbridge Wells the way it would from further east in Kent.
